We offer a full-service technical solution for our clients and house an extensive and varied stock across all areas of technical production including sound, lighting, vision, rigging, set & stage, scenic and power distribution. At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic we invested significant resource in to developing our virtual and hybrid event offering and we are now building a strong reputation in this field. Despite the current challenges for our industry, we are now looking to develop and build upon our previous successes and therefore have the opportunity for an enthusiastic vision engineer / live events technician to join our team.  The successful applicant will be an experienced video engineer and have hands on experience working in the live events sector. The successful candidate will also be at home in a fast paced, hands on environment and thrive under pressure. KEY ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rigging and operating video equipment for live, virtual and hybrid events.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • The ability to lead a team of freelance staff and represent the company.
  • Communicating with clients, suppliers, venue staff and crew both onsite and prior to an event.
  • Preparing and maintaining equipment in our warehouse spaces.
  • Working with the head of vision to continue developing, maintaining and improving the vision department.
  • Delivering / collecting equipment in company vehicles.
  • Assistance in other departments to meet the needs of the business.

 REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a video engineer in the live events industry particularly in the corporate sector.
  • Knowledge and live event experience using Barco Event Master screen management systems.
  • Knowledge and live event experience using presentation switchers.
  • Knowledge and experience with modular LED screen and associated processing.
  • Knowledge and experience with Panasonic projectors.
  • Extensive knowledge and live event experience using presentation and video playback software.
  • Knowledge and experience of live streaming events and video communication solutions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or unaccompanied under own initiative.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure of a live event.
  • High standard of personal presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to problem solve and to work to deadlines.
  • High self-motivation and ability to lead by example.
  • Flexibility and a can do, customer focused attitude.
  • Keen eye for detail with a high standard of equipment presentation.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.

TRAINING & PROGRESSION 

On-going training will be provided as the job role requires. We value our team and want to see them progress and develop their skills and career within the organisation. Career progression within our expanding company would be available for proactive individuals.

 

WORKING HOURS 

If you have the experience, we are looking for then you will already know that this is not a 9 till 5 job. Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Weekend work will be required.  We try hard to manage a work life balance for our team.

 

HOLIDAYS

  • 28 days per year
  • After 3 years continuous service you will receive your birthday off (day off can be taken within 7 days of your birthday)
  • After 5 years continuous service you will receive a further day’s holiday

They will have varied experience in the AV industry and have a good understanding of an AV company’s warehouse operations. The successful candidate will also be at home in a fast paced, hands on environment and thrive under pressure. KEY ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Line management of warehouse employees.
  • Communicating with Operations Manager for forward planning.
  • Overseeing preparation of equipment for productions and dry hires to the highest standard.
  • Liaising with dry hire customers to ensure orders go out correctly and client’s needs are met.
  • Hands on preparation of equipment.
  • Managing progress and work rates of the warehouse team.
  • Improving efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations.
  • Health and safety within the warehouse.
  • Managing the checking in procedures for equipment returned from hire.
  • Developing procedures to further improve standards and maximise productivity.
  • Scheduling service, maintenance, and repair of equipment including organising testing and inspection of lifting and electrical equipment.
  • Managing the warehouse schedule of work and booking additional freelancers, as required.
  • Stock management of consumables.
  • Managing regular inspections of company vehicles and forklift truck and organising service/repair as required.
  • Conducting return to work interviews, managing sickness, absenteeism, and disciplinary processes, where appropriate.
  • Assisting with the recruitment process of warehouse team.
  • Assisting with the review of Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments within the warehouse.
  • Ability to keep rental software up to date.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • High self-motivation, with the ability to lead by example and work as part of a team.
  • Experience in the events industry.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Meticulous planning and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise multiple jobs, on a daily basis.
