Job Title:         Hire Co-ordinator 

Reporting to:   Hire Manager 

Location:        Sterling Event Group, Ringway Trading Estate,

We are looking to add an additional hire co-ordinator to our venues and hire team. This self-motivated and experienced individual will be the first port of call for many of our customers, offering friendly and honest advice and support along with our range of first-class equipment.

Our venues and hire time currently supply a dependable service to a growing number of venues throughout the North West along with trade dry hire to many other production companies. There is huge potential for the department to grow and we are keen strengthen the team to help us unlock this.

 

Key Roles / Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating day to day venue AV hire and support service along with trade dry hire business from the initial enquiry including specifying, quoting, generating pick lists and organising deliveries.
  • Working directly with end clients/venues overseeing small projects from the initial enquiry to completion of the event.
  • Producing daily schedules for our venue technicians including detailed information / plans when required
  • Provide technical support to our venue technicians
  • Occasional onsite work if required
  • Occasional meetings with clients to discuss their requirements
  • Sales and marketing to maintain and build on our client base.
  • Other tasks as the business requires

Required Skills

  • Technical experience in the AV, sound and lighting industry particularly in the corporate events sector
  • Excellent communication skills

Training

On-going training will be provided as the job role requires. We are fortunate enough to have many specialists within the company covering a range of skills from all aspects of technical production to business and account management, all of which are keen to share this knowledge to upskill our team.

 Working Hours

Standard working hours would be 09.00 till 18.00 Monday to Friday, however due to the nature of the role the successful candidate may be required to work outside of these hours and weekends as projects permit. We work hard to maintain a work life balance for our team.

As part of our continuing development plans which include substantial investment in both our people and equipment along with a recent warehouse expansion to over 35’000 sqft we have the opportunity for a warehouse based audio prep technician. The applicant will be required to have a good understanding of audio systems to join our team and develop the warehouse operation. The successful applicant will have experience within the AV industry and have a good understanding of live event production either in a similar warehouse role or as a technician. They will be at home in a fast paced, hands on environment and thrive under the pressures of a busy warehouse.

Duties

  • Hands on preparation of equipment (predominantly in the audio department, however work in other divisions of the warehouse may also be required during busy periods) for productions and dry hires to the highest standard
  • Checking in equipment returned from hire and productions
  • Ensuring all equipment is kept clean and well presented
  • Ensuring workspaces are kept in clean and orderly condition
  • General service, maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Loading / unloading of vans and trucks
  • Occasional deliveries / collections and site work (Full UK driving license required)
  • Maintain high Health & Safety standards and adhere to company policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of Yamaha digital mixing desks
  • Knowledge of d&b loudspeakers and associated rigging
  • Knowledge of Sennheiser radio microphones, IEM systems and RF distribution
  • Knowledge of Dante networking

The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of intelligent and generic lighting fixtures and associated equipment along with good working knowledge of rigging equipment. They will already be familiar with how to prepare, service and carry out basic repairs with this equipment.

  • Hands on preparation of equipment (predominantly lighting and rigging however work in our other departments will also be required) for productions and dry hires to the highest standard
  • Checking in equipment returned from hire
  • Ensuring all equipment is kept clean and well presented
  • Ensuring workspaces are kept in clean and orderly condition

  • Liaising with suppliers regarding maintenance of equipment and ordering of spare parts
  • Loading / unloading of vans and trucks

The applicant will be required to have a good understanding of audio and vision systems, to join our team and develop the warehouse operation. The successful applicant will have experience in the AV industry and have a good understanding of live event production either in a similar warehouse role or as a technician. They will be at home in a fast paced, hands on environment and thrive under the pressures of a busy warehouse.
