JOB TITLE:  Account Manager

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic we invested significant resource in to developing our virtual and hybrid event offering and we are now building a strong reputation in this field. Despite the current challenges for our industry, we are always looking to develop and build upon our previous successes and therefore have the opportunity for an enthusiastic Account Manager to join our team. Teamwork is a key part of the Sterling culture, all parts of the business support and collaborate to achieve together and our people are the reason our clients’ have been returning year on year for over two decades.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting Senior Account Managers to maintain and develop key client relationships
  • Mentoring and supporting Account Executives with development
  • Being the first point of contact for clients, taking clear and detailed client briefs and communicating these to the technical team to deliver
  • Attending and chairing client meetings and site visits
  • Updating booking software with event progress and milestones
  • Creation of sales proposals and marketing materials including case studies
  • Sourcing logistics information to aid in the creation of crew communication documents
  • Supporting Projects Team with operational and logistical tasks during busy periods
  • Educating clients and venues about the wide range of services we can offer
  • Advising clients on appropriate AV solutions for their events, liaising with technical managers where needed
  • Contributing to the creative design process for client events
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Attending networking and industry events
  • On site client support for larger productions where needed
  • Other duties to meet the needs of the business

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES OF THE CANDIDATE

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the live events industry
  • The successful candidate must have a curiosity to learn, whilst displaying resilience and a can-do attitude
  • Have a polished and professional manner, projecting confidence and enthusiasm to clients
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be prepared to react quickly to tasks in an efficient way
  • Be highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deliverables and stakeholders simultaneously, ensuring multiple projects are moving toward their deadline
  • Have a good technical understanding of event production and the effective communication skills to explain technical solutions to clients in a clear and jargon-free manner
  • Have a customer focused yet commercial mindset
  • Be a strong presenter who has an eye for visual design as you will be involved in the event concept design process
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport

 

TRAINING & PROGRESSION

On-going training will be provided as the job role requires. We value our team and want to see them progress and develop their skills and career within the organisation. Career progression within our expanding company would be available for proactive individuals.

 

WORKING HOURS

Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Typically, your working day would be 08:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday, though we operate a flexible start time for staff where needed. Work outside of these hours and at weekends will be required as our workload / projects require. We try hard to manage a work/life balance for our team.

 

HOLIDAYS

  • 28 days per year
  • After 3 years continuous service you will receive your birthday off (day off can be taken within 7 days of your birthday)
  • After 5 years continuous service you will receive a further day’s holiday

 

PENSION SCHEME

A company pension scheme which the company contributes to on a monthly basis will be available.

The successful applicant will be customer focused, a strong leader, have varied experience in the AV industry and have a good understanding of live event production technologies. This may be an ideal opportunity for a senior technician to further their career in the industry or an existing project manager looking to progress. They will be at home in a fast paced, hands on environment and thrive under pressure. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ability to work as part of a team within our projects department, working directly with our clients overseeing projects from the initial enquiry to completion of the event.
  • Supporting the business to maintain and develop key client relationships
  • Attending and chairing client meetings and site visits
  • Taking clear and detailed client briefs and advising clients on appropriate technical solutions for their event.
  • Developing creative ideas and designs for client events including preparation of CAD plans
  • Specification of suitable equipment and creation of quotations, proposals and budget management
  • Updating booking software with event progress and milestones
  • Booking and management of crew & resources including the creation of crew communication documents
  • Liaising with performers, venues and other third parties
  • Preparation and management of health & safety documents and procedures
  • On site work at venues across the UK and occasionally internationally
  • Hands on rigging / de-rigging and operation of equipment if required an advantage but not essential
  • Educating clients and venues about the wide range of services we can offer
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Promotion of our products and services to generate new business
  • Assistance of other departments and other duties to meet the needs of the business
